The Seekers (Ages 8-9)
The Seekers is our Sunday morning program for 8-9 year olds.
Most Sundays, you can find us in the Kids room at 10:30. We read the Bible together and talk about how ancient stories can help us in our lives today. We learn about the traditions of the Episcopal Church, and explore its Book of Common Prayer. After the discussions, we enjoy fun activities together. We might play a Bible board game, or card game, or a Christian music dance game. We might do something creative in the church kitchen, or play a ball game outside.
On the first Sunday of the month, we join our families at the 10:00 Sunday service, serving as acolytes, ushers, and lectors. One of us leads the congregation in the Prayers of the People.
In God’s Kids, we offer our kids these tools for living: the Bible, prayers, Episcopal traditions, and Christian community. And the way we do it puts “church” and “fun” in the same sentence. In the words of one of our children, “Kids learn a lot of really fascinating things about God & have fun too.”
