2020 Beach Clean up Day
On June 4, 2022 St. John's held its first beach clean up day of 2022. St. John's has adapted Seacliff State Beach through Save our Shores. Below are photo's of the event taken by various photographers.
Because of Covid-19 our cleanup day was a little modified. Yes, we all wore face masks and kept our distances. SOS did not pass out any supplies, so we have no scales to weigh trash or tally sheets to add up the types of items we collect.
Thank you to those folks who were able to make it our second beach cleanup day at our adopted beach – Seacliff State Park.
12 folks signed waivers. There were more folks who missed signing in. People stayed for various amounts of time, as their schedules permitted.
We picked up lots of small pieces of plastic that were on their way to becoming part of the micro-plastic tide that is making its way into all the waterways and fish of the planet.
I think we all got to know other parishioners a little better. Since we have adopted Seacliff Beach we will have at one more cleanup in 2020, this September. Hope to see you there!
