Small Groups

Life and faith are nurtured at St. John’s by participating in a small group. Our groups reflect the diversity of spiritual practices and fellowship that deepen relationship with God and with each other. Some of our groups study a book together, some meet at a cafe for coffee, others have breakfast for fellowship and discussion at various restaurants and others knit and catch up all at the same time.

Small Groups gather almost each day of the week. Try one, try a few. You will be most welcome.

Monday
  • 7:30 a.m. Men’s Monday Breakfast Meeting (contact Charles Greenleaf)
  • 10:00 a.m. - Staff Meeting, Office Study
  • 10:15 a.m. - Al-Anon Meeting, Café
  • 12:00 noon, Episcopal Church Women (ECW). Third Monday of each month, 12 noon potluck and 1 p.m. program. (Contact Karen Greenleaf)
  • 1:30 p.m. - Worship Committee, Sanctuary
  • 2:00 p.m. "Loving Hands" knitting group, Youth Center – They meet in rotating homes on the 1st Monday of the month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  (contact Vicky Wilson)
  • 3:00 p.m., Aptos Youth Committee meeting. First & Fourth Monday (contact Michael DeArmond)
  • 5:00 p.m. Evening Prayer, walk-ins welcome (contact Cindy Phillips)

Tuesday
  • 12:00 p.m. Finance Committee, Office Study - first Tuesday of the month
  • 1:00 p.m. Executive Committee (Rector, Wardens & Treasurer), Youth Center - first Tuesday of the month
  • 2:30 p.m. Contemplative Living Group, Cafe (contact Ray Wolf)
  • 6:30 p.m. COPA Meeting, Youth Center - first Tuesday on the month (Contact: Dee Roe)
  • 7:00 p.m. Compline, Sanctuary (Contact: Karen & Charles Greenleaf)

Wednesday
  • 11:30 a.m. Playful Prayer – second and fourth Wednesdays in Cafe (contact Malou Knapp)
  • 2:00 p.m. Final Options Group, Youth Center - last Wednesday of the month

Thursday
  • 9:15 a.m. Old Gaffers Men’s Group (contact Gary Rominger)
  • 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Al-Anon Meeting, Café
  • 1:00-3:00 p.m. Tremolos (Community choir for people with Parkinson's & their supporters), Sanctuary
  • 7:00-9:00 p.m. - Outreach Committee Meeting, Youth Center - fourth Thursday of the month

Friday
